Exam News & Study Tips

Hi Reader,

The exam window opens next Tuesday! 😱

We hope you're feeling like you're in a good spot and gearing up to be exam-ready!

For the last few weeks, you were probably taking practice exams, memorizing details, and working on practice problems.

In the final few days, make sure you don't get too bogged down studying fringe topics that are unlikely to show up. The CAS exams are an exercise of the Pareto Principle (80-20 rule).

Here are a few ideas to help maximize your points:

  • Work on your exam-taking strategy (see the blog post below), so you don't run out of time and leave points blank.
  • Re-read the exam Content Outlines and make sure you feel comfortable with all the high-level tasks.
  • [Bonus item] Re-skim some of the sections of the source papers where essay or multiple-choice questions are likely to come from, because exam-writers often use verbatim wording or graphs from the source papers directly.
  • Make sure you're getting enough sleep!

Good luck!

Course Forum During the Exam Window

The course forum will be closed beginning April 15th, the start of the exam window. We'll still be in the course forum over the next couple of days to answer last-minute questions. The course forum will still be available during the exam window for you to see earlier posts.

Important: DO NOT discuss specifics about the exam or exam topics in the course forum after you take it.

Post-Exam Survey

Just a heads up, we plan to send out a short survey in the weeks after the exam to see how we can improve our courses to be more helpful for you and others in the future. As a bonus, we're going to do a drawing for a $100 Amazon gift card.

If you have feedback on how we can improve the course, please let us know!

Good luck on the exam!
